Sunday (1994): The Debut Tour w/ Theo Moss + Liquid Chicken
Globe Hall Presents Sunday (1994): The Debut Tour with Theo Moss and Liquid Chicken on Tuesday, April 29th. Sunday (1994) is a story of love. A love that turns lonely long-haul flights into emotional dramas, and bad apartments into settings. A love that starts with a meet-cute and never ends. A love that was born out of music, bonded by music, and now explored in music. Sunday (1994) is a soundtrack. A collaboration 10 years in the making, Paige Turner and Lee Newell knew they would make music together the second their relationship started. Without ever needing to discuss the sound, style or direction it would take, theirs is the effortless artistry that comes from total trust and honesty. Both musicians saved their best work and tenderest lyrics for this moment, finally exhaling them in the catharsis of this new project. All coming to fruition and entering the world outside of their one-bed apartment like two characters walking onto the screen, Sunday (1994) are ready for their premiere. Along with their enigmatic, anonymous drummer, ‘x’, their sound is cinematic in the truest sense. It’s music you can imagine characters running through airports to, racing after love. They’re songs for bedroom floor tears or the first time two hands touch. It’s a release that captures a love story, and every love story that has ever and will ever happen, in all of its sweet, daydreaming and dramatic beauty. $1 from every ticket purchased will be donated to the Ally Coalition All ages, ticketed guests under 16 ONLY ADMITTED WITH TICKETED GUARDIAN 21+ All sales are final. Cardinal Bloom w/ Neighborhood Watch + moonpool
Globe Hall Presents Cardinal Bloom with Neighborhood Watch and moonpool on Friday, February 21st. Cardinal Bloom is an Indie Rock Band from Salt Lake City, Utah, one of the birthplaces of the modern Indie Rock genre. Their debut album, “The Only Place I’ve Ever Known,” was released in September 2024, marking a new era of their music while still holding true to the sound they’ve carved as their own. Cardinal Bloom’s music encapsulates the nostalgic and bittersweet feeling of ‘better days,’ yet it leaves you with the notion that there is still so much life ahead of us to be lived. “Everything they did worked together to absolutely nail that dusty Deseret sound—one that sits in between pop, rock, and folk.” -Zach Collier (Provo Music Magazine) Their members include Joey St. John on guitar and vocals, Jacob Silvester on bass and vocals, Josh Thomas on guitar, and Nate Adair on drums. All ages, ticketed guests under 16 ONLY ADMITTED WITH TICKETED GUARDIAN 21+ All sales are final. Good Looks w/ A Place For Owls + INNS
Globe Hall Presents Good Looks with A Place For Owls and INNS on Saturday, February 8th. Good Looks write kindhearted and cathartic rock songs about the persistence required to make it through hard times. In April 2022, the Austin, Texas quartet released their critically acclaimed debut Bummer Year, which channeled post-2016 frustrations into lyrically generous and biting tracks. Immediately after their triumphant hometown record release show, tragedy struck. Walking outside the venue, lead guitarist Jake Ames was hit by a car crossing the street, fracturing his skull and tailbone. Following a necessary period of healing and processing which found him in the ICU and dealing with short-term memory issues, Ames recovered. The traumatic accident strengthened their bond, which is evident on their electric new album Lived Here For A While. Out June 7 via Keeled Scales, it’s fearlessly direct music that captures the full-throated intensity of their galvanizing live show. Though frontman Tyler Jordan had already written the 10 urgent songs on this album before the accident, they weren’t recorded yet. Following the excitement of the release show, Ames’ horrific injury was a devastating blow and made the band’s future uncertain. They canceled the next few months of touring and were mainly concerned about whether or not their bandmate would be OK. “We were in the hospital with him every day,” says Jordan. “It wasn’t clear how bad it was gonna be for Jake. We had no idea how this traumatic brain injury would affect him until the swelling went down. We even wondered if we’d ever play music together again.” Ames was initially hospitalized for nearly a week. While he had difficulty speaking conversationally upon his release, he quickly realized he could still play guitar and sing almost perfectly. These songs exude the many charms of this Texas band and they debuted several of these cuts on tours with the full band, which includes original drummer Phil Dunne and new bassist Harrison Anderson. However, Ames’ accident wasn’t the only horrific event that plagued the band. In July 2023, on the first day of a south and Midwestern run, their tour van was rear-ended by a speeding car, causing an accident on the highway that culminated with their van, alongside their instruments, merch, and records, becoming engulfed in flames. Thankfully, none of the band members suffered serious injuries. Two days later, Jordan continued out the tour solo with the band joining him a few days later to finish the run. This resilience is essential to Good Looks and why the songs on Lived Here For A While resonate so profoundly. “Driving to those shows immediately after the crash, I had a lot of time to think and process everything,” says Jordan. “And honestly, what better way to heal than to see people that you love, play music and do what you were put on this earth to do.”” All ages, ticketed guests under 16 ONLY ADMITTED WITH TICKETED GUARDIAN 21+ All sales are final.
