Wade Forster (Night 2)
Globe Hall Presents Wade Forster (Night 2) on Sunday, September 7th. Wade Forster doesn’t just sing country music—he lives it. A working cattleman and professional rodeo cowboy from outback Queensland, Australia, Wade has built a career on grit, heart, and the kind of stories most country singers only dream of living. And now, after a breakthrough co-headline tour with The Lowdown Drifters in early 2025—including sold-out shows at Cain’s Ballroom and Gruene Hall—he’s saddling up for his first-ever North American headline tour. The run kicks off September 4 at The Valley Music Festival in Idaho and stretches across the U.S. with stops in Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas—including appearances at Born & Raised Music Festival and some of the most beloved grassroots venues in American country music. Wade’s American fanbase has grown fast and fierce, with over 50 million global streams, a viral moment at Fort Worth Stockyards—and all done as an independent artist. It all started with a rough cover of Tyler Childers’ Oneida back in 2021. The clip took off online, and with a few rodeo cheques in his back pocket, Wade booked time at Hillbilly Hut Studio to record what became his debut album, The Beginning. With no label or marketing push, that record organically found its way across the world—and now, so has he. Just great songs and a voice that cuts straight to the core. His music tells it exactly like it is: rodeo highs, outback heartbreak, and the battles most blokes don’t talk about. This tour also lands alongside Wade’s brand-new single One Night Stand. It tells the story of a two-timing cowboy whose escapades don’t end well—but he’s not losing sleep over it. Driven by a gritty, riff-heavy groove, it’s a swaggering country-rock track full of sharp one-liners and vivid imagery. The song balances wit and wildness, capturing the chaos of a night you probably shouldn’t have had—but definitely won’t forget. Tyler Halverson
Globe Hall Presents Tyler Halverson on Friday, August 1st. Born and raised in the tiny town of Canton, SD (pop. 3054), Tyler Halverson isn’t just any cowboy. He’s got the hat and the boots, but he also plays a mean guitar and writes an even meaner tune. He has no problem bouncing around the country chasing adventure (or a girl), and is telling his different kind of cowboy tale with his self-described “Amerijuana Music,” bridging honest storytelling with songcraft inspired by country powerhouses Garth Brooks, George Strait, and Hayes Carll as much as Boyz II Men, Taking Back Sunday, and The Used. Halverson fell in thrall to music at an early age, receiving his first guitar while in middle school. A local bluegrass festival convinced him to focus on music, throwing dowwn at 4H and FFA festivals before heading to Nashville to attend the prestigious Belmont University. Upon graduation, he decided to hit the road and spent an extended run traveling around South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming, all the while writing and playing his songs on social media. Halverson’s original approach caught fire with a string of independent releases including “Beer Garden Baby,” “Mac Miller,” and “Your Bar Now” (with Kylie Frey), amassing tens of millions of streams. Now, with his Atlantic Records debut single “Her” and more to come, Tyler Halverson is eager to take the next step on what has already proven an amazing journey. “I’m finding myself,” says Halverson. “I feel like I’m an artist and I’m finally about to do something.” All ages, ticketed guests under 16 ONLY ADMITTED WITH TICKETED GUARDIAN 21+ All sales are final. The Wilder Blue w/ Bison Bone + Ben Garcia
Globe Hall Presents The Wilder Blue with Bison Bone and Ben Garcia on Friday, June 27th. Sharp storytelling. Gripping and gorgeous five-part harmonies. Arrangements that can swing between fun, engaging, and lively one moment and stirring, booming, and chill-inducing the next. These are the essential elements that make up the sound of The Wilder Blue, the Texas five-piece who put their own spin on rock-influenced country with their eponymous sophomore album. Built around the keen storytelling voice of primary frontman Zane Williams, Paul Eason’s salient lead guitar, the imaginative tandem of drummer Lyndon Hughes and bassist Sean Rodriguez, and the striking, compelling mind of multi-instrumentalist Andy Rogers, The Wilder Blue are only beginning to scratch the surface of their potential. Williams and Eason began toying with the idea of a new band in 2019 by seeking out a nimble set of collaborators. Knowing that they wanted to emphasize a rich vocal blend that could be replicated live, they soon enlisted Hughes and Rogers. When Rodriguez joined, it solidified the outfit as a cohesive unit. “Having studio time paid for by our fan subscribers gave us the chance to relax and spread out a little,” explains Williams about the recording process for The Wilder Blue. Recording over the course of a few three-day sessions every few months allowed the band to experiment in the studio while avoiding harsh deadlines or the demand of cramming an album’s worth of material into a week’s worth of time. Often recorded to tape, a vibrant tapestry of sonic swirls emerged. Standout single, “Feelin’ the Miles” is a prime example of a song shifting from one idea to another. What started out as a James Taylor-esque acoustic guitar stroll slowly but surely began to rise from the ashes of its former self. “My original concept for that song was much more in the vein of ‘Okie Soldier’ or ’Birds of Youth,’” says Williams. “We all liked the song, but we didn’t need another like it so basically one day, I just came up with a totally different groove for it.” Much like in “Feelin’ the Miles”, a looming arc of redemption, growth, and inner harmony can be glimpsed throughout the album with the likes of the poignant “Wave Dancer,” the contemplative “The Kingsnake & The Rattler,” and the compelling “Shadows & Moonlight.” In addition to the powerful harmonies and sprawling sonic palette, Williams’ knack for five-minute vignettes is yet another pillar on which Wilder Blue can count. The Wilder Blue as an album wouldn’t be complete without taking advantage of the strong and able storytelling arcs of Williams. “With all the tools that we have in our toolkit, I think there’s still a lot of ground to be covered,” says Williams. “We haven’t even delved into all of our tools just yet, but we definitely got to go further down the road with digging into the box for this record.” All ages, ticketed guests under 16 ONLY ADMITTED WITH TICKETED GUARDIAN 21+ All sales are final. Griffin William Sherry (of The Ghost of Paul Revere) w/ Al Maul + Ronjo V
Globe Hall Presents Griffin William Sherry (of The Ghost of Paul Revere) with Al Maul and Ronjo V on Wednesday, July 9th. Hat hung low, hands wrapped around a well-worn acoustic guitar, Griffin William Sherry shares stories equally worthy of a dusty old novel, campfire congregation, or outdoor summer festival. For as much as the Maine singer, songwriter, and guitarist wrestles with big questions about life and love in his songs, he also celebrates the magic of spending his days living in a small town. His powerhouse vocal delivery, no-frills instrumentation, unabashed honesty, and eloquent songcraft might just make you appreciate the moment a little bit more. After twelve years fronting The Ghost of Paul Revere, he offers up his story as a solo artist for the first time on his 2024 full-length debut album, Hundred Mile Wilderness, and much more to come. “I’ve always found a lot of joy and pride in songwriting. I love writing earnest and witty lyrics, and songs that can tell a story,” he says. “I think fans of the Ghost (of Paul Revere) will find a familiar voice in this new record, but also a new direction. The songs on Hundred Mile Wilderness are built on that simple foundation of me and my guitar, singing at the top of my lungs with all my heart. That’s what I’ve been doing since day one. I feel like I’ve been given a great opportunity to continue making music and, for what feels like the first time, telling my story with my own voice.” When The Ghost of Paul Revere amicably parted ways in 2022, Griffin continued on his own. Armed with tunes of his own, he retreated to Nashville, TN and recorded Hundred Mile Wilderness with producer Eddie Spear. The title nodded to both his home state and the genesis of this next creative chapter. “The ‘Hundred Mile Wilderness’ ,” he notes. “Is an untouched stretch-of-wilderness at the northernmost end of the Appalachian Trail. To me, the journey to make this record paralleled exploring deep in the Maine woods . You know deep down there’s going to be an end to it, but you don’t know when you’ll reach it or what you’re going to experience along the way.” “I’m ready for a new chapter,” he says. “I don’t have a choice but to keep going; I have to make and play music. I had to make this record, which ultimately is both deeply personal and reflects where I call home, with all its failings and all its charm. I hope I’m always curious, just as I hope I’m always proud of where I’ve been and where I can go. And I hope that I never lose that drive to tell stories I can find myself in.” Ultimately, Griffin’s telling the story he’s meant to. Melissa Carper w/ Bonnie Montgomery + Amy Martin
KGNU Presents Melissa Carper with Bonnie Montgomery and Amy Martin on Sunday, June 15th. “I don’t think you can get this sound unless it’s borned in ya,” said bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley, when asked about what he called “old-time mountain music.” When Melissa Carper heard those words, something jumped inside her. While staying in the country with a friend, she found an old DVD of Down From the Mountain, the documentary and concert film of the “O, Brother Where Art Thou” soundtrack that featured this particular Stanley interview. She immediately jotted down “borned in ya” on a piece of paper. “I knew I had to write that song,” she recalls. In the Spring of 2023, Carper went back to East Nashville’s Bomb Shelter — the same “analog wonderland” where she’d recorded Ramblin’ Soul and its predecessor, Daddy’s Country Gold, and enlisted the help of her trusted co-producers — Dennis Crouch and Andrija Tokic. “Borned In Ya” would become the title track of the new album. Like much of her writing, the song applies a homespun sensibility — and a bit of humor — to questions about life’s journeys. “I was turning over in my mind what it means to have something ‘borned in ya,'” she said. “The song evolved as I was writing it to be more about having your soul ‘borned it ya,’ and the more life experience you have, you hopefully grow to embody the highest version of yourself that you can be.” “Borned In Ya” could certainly stand as a reflection on Carper’s life in music. “Authentic” might be an overused word to describe an artist’s appeal, but there’s something so natural and true about Carper’s musicality that she must have been born with it: An easy sway to her singing, a precise, but laid back sense of timing. A feel. And, lyrically, she has an instinctive sense for storytelling, both observant and intuitive. Borned In Ya showcases Carper’s long-standing influences as well as her artistic growth and sense of adventure. The old-time jazz sounds we came to know on Daddy’s Country Gold are back in full force along with the R&B and Soul of Ramblin’ Soul. Perhaps, the least ‘country’ of her albums, the country roots are still felt as you can never remove the ‘hillbilly’ from Carper’s sound. In addition to her familiar blend of country with jazz, blues, soul, and R&B, the new album sees Carper exploring a more subtle and expert crossing of these genres and with a matured lyrical depth. The title track kicks things off with a gospel-style vocal chorus before settling into an impeccably funky groove. “Evil Eva” recalls the classic R&B of the 50s and 60s, and “Let’s Stay Single Together” puts Carper’s crooning vocal to a delightful jazz-tinged country soul feel. “There’ll Be Another One” sounds like classic Roy Orbison with Carper floating atop the bed of ever growing emotion, fueled by the stunning string arrangement from fiddler, Rebecca Patek. “Somewhere Between Texas and Tennessee” is straight out of the honky tonk and “Lucky Five” is reminiscent of an old Frank Sinatra swinger. Carper rounds out this album with covers of two classics, “That’s My Desire,” crossover jazz/country tune from the 30s, and a beautiful rendition of Cole Porter’s “Everytime We Say Goodbye.” “People call me retro or throwback, and I’ve been OK with that,” Carper says. “But, I feel like I’m still creating something new. I’m taking styles and blending things in a way that maybe hasn’t been done before. And, in the process, I’m evolving in my own way.” All ages, ticketed guests under 16 ONLY ADMITTED WITH TICKETED GUARDIAN 21+ All sales are final.
