Globe Hall Presents Cycles with Mr. Specific and River Spell on Saturday, November 30th. Cycles epitomize the power-trio format with ripping guitar, fat bass grooves played out through furious slapping, and viciously dynamic drum beats flowing over intricate tempo changes. The current incarnation of the ever-developing sound of Cycles reveals itself today as a speeding freight train of sound and rhythm. Screaming peaks and balanced grooves find their way out of the chaos of a jam while samples ripped from the likes of Madonna, Lil Nas X and many more ring out and grab the unsuspecting audience by surprise, adding to the multicolored blend of sound filling a room and often standing out as comedic elements of the show. Drawing influence from artists such as Rage Against the Machine, J. Dilla, Primus, Weather Report, and many more, Cycles fuse an eclectic blend of genres to produce an original sound that has become harder and harder to find. CANCELED – Madison Ryann Ward on Wednesday, November 13th. Faith-based singer/songwriter Madison Ryann Ward writes warmhearted songs that mix mature pop and contemporary R&B with accents of gospel, blues, and folk. Previously signed to Rick Rubin’s American Recordings, for which she cut the secular Beyond Me EP (2019), she has established herself as an independent artist with her own Zelda House Records, issuing a slew of singles before making her full-length debut with A New Thing (2023), a bright showcase for her commanding and understated voice. Ward grew up in her native Oklahoma hearing a wide range of music. Her mother played piano in church, and she soaked up blues and soul classics while working in her teens at her father’s restaurant. A year-round athletic star in high school, Ward excelled in volleyball at Oklahoma University with plans of going pro. Her path changed after an informal cafeteria recording of her singing Aretha Franklin’s “Chain of Fools” went viral. This encouraged Ward to build an online following with regular uploads of covers, and she eventually devoted herself to developing her voice and budding songwriting talent, leading to a deal with producer Rick Rubin and his American Recordings label. After she made her commercial debut with the Rex Rideout collaboration “Mirror” in 2018, Ward continued the next year with Beyond Me, a four-track EP featuring the equally lean and soulful ballad “BRKN.” Ward then went independent, and from 2020 through 2022 progressed with singles such as “Higher,” “Player,” “Love&Adoration,” and “Anchor.” In 2023, she delivered A New Thing, an album over an hour in length with a few of the preceding singles placed throughout the sequence. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi – All ages, ticketed guests under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian

In 2020, the track “Soundtrack for your Backseat” exploded on social media, and thus, garnered routine editorial playlisting, tens of millions of rotations, and propelled his debut self-produced album Superstar Baby to a worldwide audience. This encouraged the band to embark on a 30+ date headline tour across the west, including stops at UMS and Zona Festival. So, in the absence of one, Nick Anderson built one from scratch. In search of like-minded souls who loved the punk and alternative sounds he preferred, Nick turned to the internet.
